With an academic background of law (BSL) and communication studies (MSc), Tanmay has worked as a researcher and consultant in the field of governance in Green Earth Social development consulting Pvt. Ltd. Now, he looks after his business, Anuroop Wiwaha Sanstha.
He is a founder trustee of an organization called Parivartan which works for Good Governance. Though entrepreneur by profession, Tanmay is actively involved in voluntary social activism through various organizations for over 12 years. He is one of the leading RTI activists in Pune and has conducted several RTI workshops for students, common citizens and social organizations.
He was actively involved in the disaster relief work during Uttarakhand flash floods (2013), Kashmir floods (2016), Kerala floods (2018), Western Maharashtra floods (2019).
Tanmay was an active member of Aam Aadmi Party during 2014-15. He worked as the convener of Kothrud assembly constituency and as a spokesperson for Pune Loksabha Constituency, during Loksabha elections 2014. Also, worked as the spokesperson for AAP Maharashtra.
Tanmay writes extensively about socio-political issues in various leading Marathi daily newspapers and periodicals like Maharashtra Times, Sakaal, Lokmat, Saptahik Vivek, Lokprabha, Purush Uvach, Maher, Kishor etc. He also writes for a renowned think tank called ORF.
He writes fiction stories in magazines like Maher, Menaka, Prapanch. A collection of his fiction work was published in 2011. Currently, a novel and a situational comedy web series are in the pipeline.
In 2016, he was honoured with an award by Everest Entertainment and Pratisad productions for his socio-political work. Tanmay received 'Vivekanand Yuva Ratna Award' in 2017.
